Instant Replay: Durant's First Warriors Triple-double Leads Golden State Past Mavericks

OAKLAND – Kevin Durant rang up his first triple-double as a member of the Warriors, propelling them to a 108-99 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night at Oracle Arena.

Durant totaled 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. He achieved triple-double status with 4:28 left in the third quarter.

Three other Warriors scored in double figures, as Klay Thompson poured in a game-high 29 points, Stephen Curry 14 and Draymond Green 13 as the Warriors (29-5) rolled to their ninth win in 10 games.

The Warriors dominated in most every category, outshooting the Mavericks (50.0 percent to 41.9), outrebounding them 43-40 and outscoring them 27-6 on the fast break. The Warriors committed 13 turnovers, off which Dallas scored 8 points.

Six Mavericks scored in double figured, with Harrison Barnes leading the way with 25 points. Seth Curry scored 11 off the bench. Dallas dropped to 10-24 this season.

STANDOUT PERFORMER

Others pitched in plenty, Thompson in particular, but Durant was comprehensively superior.

Durant's line: 19 points (7-of-14 shooting from the field, 2-of-7 from deep, 3-of-4 from the line), 11 rebounds and 10 assists. He played 35 minutes and was plus-9.

The triple-double was the eighth of Durant's career.

Thompson scored 17 of his 29 points third quarter. He has scored at least 20 points in each of the last three games.

TURNING POINT

After Nowitzki swished two free throws to give Dallas a 34-31 lead with 10:39 left in the second quarter, the Warriors came back with a 26-10 blast to go up 57-41 with 3:43 left in the half.

The Warriors led by as much as 25 in the second half, as the Mavericks got no closer than the final nine-point difference, inside the final two minutes.

INJURY UPDATE

Warriors: G Pat McCaw (flu-like symptoms) was listed questionable and downgraded to out. C Anderson Varejao was a healthy inactive.

Mavericks: F Dirk Nowitzki (illness) was listed as questionable, upgraded to available and was in the starting lineup. C Andrew Bogut (rest) and G J.J. Barea (L leg muscle strain) were listed as out and placed on the inactive list.

The Warriors return to action Monday night, when they face the Denver Nuggets at Oracle Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
