Warriors Come Back in Brooklyn Without Draymond

After a drowsy first half at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the Warriors snapped awake in the third quarter Thursday night and rolled to a 117-101 win over the Nets.

Five Warriors scored in double figures, with Kevin Durant tallying 26 points to lead the way. Klay Thompson put in 23 points, Stephen Curry and Zaza Pachulia 15 each, with David West adding 10.

The Warriors (26-4), who won for the sixth consecutive time, were without forward Draymond Green, who left the team to return to the Bay Area for the birth of his son.

The Nets (7-21) threatened early, leading for most of the first half and going up as much as 16 before the Warriors adjusted to Green's absence and locked down on defense after intermission. The Warriors outscored Brooklyn 68-36 in the second half.

Former Stanford star Brook Lopez scored 28 points to lead the Nets, whose record tumbled to 7-21.

STANDOUT PERFORMER

Despite having his hands full with Lopez, Pachulia played his most productive game as a Warrior posting season highs in scoring and rebounding.

Pachulia's line: 15 points (6-of-9 from the field, 3-of-4 from the line), 14 rebounds and four assists. He played 26 minutes and finished plus-18.

TURNING POINT

Trailing 65-49 at the half, the Warriors opened the second half with a 24-5 run to take a 73-70 lead with 5:17 left in the third quarter.

The Warriors during the quarter forced 11 turnovers, off which they scored 17 points. They shot 60.9 percent in the quarter, while holding Brooklyn to 41.2-percent and taking an 88-84 lead into the fourth.

The Nets got no closer over the final 12 minutes.

INJURY UPDATE

Warriors: F Draymond Green left the team for the birth of his son and was placed on the inactive list, along with C Damian Jones, who is on assignment with Santa Cruz of the Development League.

Nets: G Isaiah Whitehead (L foot soreness) was listed as questionable and placed on the inactive list, along with F Chris McCullough.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Warriors return to action Friday night in Detroit, where they face the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn hills. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:40 p.m.
