Jeremy Lin Opens Up About Free Agency, Feels NBA Has Given Up on Him

Last time we saw Jeremy Lin on an NBA court, he was being crowned a champion as a member of the Toronto Raptors.

As for the next time we see Lin on an NBA court, well that's still up in the air.

Lin, who will turn 31 next month, has played for eight different teams in his career, including the Warriors, Knicks, Rockets, Lakers, Hornets, Nets, Hawks and most recently the Raptors. Right now, the 6-foot-3 guard is looking for a ninth, but so far, he's got nothing to show for it.

Lin is an unrestricted free agent, but thus far has been unable to land a contract offer. He opened up about his free agency experience during an event in Taiwan over the weekend, and clearly, it's been an emotional rollercoaster.

"I've given more of myself to god every single year," Lin explained, "and every year it gets harder. And in English there's a saying and it says once you've hit rock bottom, the only way is up. But rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me. So, free agency has been tough, cause I feel like in some ways the NBA has kind of given up on me."

If that doesn't tug on the heartstrings, go see a cardiologist.

Lin is a career 43.3 percent shooter from the field, but he's endured his fair share of injuries, having missed 111 games over the last three seasons. Still, it's hard to imagine a scenario where none of the 30 teams in the league have a use for a veteran backup guard with championship experience.

The days of Linsanity might be gone for good, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have anything left in the tank.
