Jimmy Butler Explains Why He Loves DeMarcus Cousins: ‘That's My Dog'

DeMarcus Cousins isn't going to give you a sugar-coated answer. He's going to be honest when he responds.

That was certainly true after his Warriors debut against the Clippers on Jan. 18.

When he fouled out, Cousins' teammates jumped off the bench and greeted him as he walked off the court. After the game, Cousins called it the "fakest love" he had ever received. It was a funny sound bite, but it sums up Cousins.

It's this side of Cousins that 76ers forward Jimmy Butler loves so much. During an interview with Yahoo's Chris Haynes, Cousins came up and Butler couldn't contain his affection for the Warriors center.

Here's the exchange between Haynes and Butler.

Chris Haynes: If there was an All-Great Quote team, first-team, you, [DeMarcus] Cousins, probably [Kevin Durant] ...

Jimmy Butler: [Russell Westbrook].

CH: Russ, yeah

JB: Russ, that's my dog too.

CH: This fool Cuz, man. First game back, right?

JB: He don't care. He don't care. He don't care.

CH: They are showering him with praises, everything. What he say, man? That's gotta be the fakest love I've ever seen.

JB: He don't care. He gonna tell it how it is.

CH: He couldn't ride the moment. He just couldn't ride the moment.

JB: No. He don't care. That's why if you know him, you love him for him. You're going to get what you're going to get. He gonna tell it how it is. That's why that's my dog.

Butler and Cousins will face each other on Thursday night when the 76ers come to Oracle Arena to face the Warriors.
