Kevin Durant Takes Larry O'Brien Trophy to Taj Mahal

Kevin Durant and his new best friend Larry made a very special stop during their trip through India on Saturday.

A day after setting a Guinness world record for largest basketball lesson at the NBA's brand new academy in Delhi, the 2017 NBA Finals MVP and the Larry O'Brien Trophy visited the Taj Mahal in Agra, India.

"Taj Mahal, got it crossed off," Durant said in a video posted on his YouTube page Saturday morning.

'You just gotta be in the presence," Durant said when asked what it was like to be inside the marble tomb built by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631. The main mausoleum was finished in 1648 and the entire grounds was completed in 1653.

"So much history. He built this as a tomb for his wife. Just the history, a deep tradition, you can really appreciate it," Durant said.

"You know, when you see something that's this old, 300-plus years, you realize that's three centuries of culture that will forever be here, until the end of times. Just think about that. When they built this, why probably didn't know how long it would stay up. And to have this as a Wonder of the World, that's legacy changing," Durant said.
