In mid-November, Klay Thompson's name was the subject of trade rumors thanks to former Warriors assistant coach Brian Scalabrine.
At the time, the Warriors laughed off the story, Scalabrine backtracked on it and multiple league sources told CSNBayArea.com that nothing was in the works.
A month later, Thompson was asked about the whole saga during an interview with ESPN's Marc Stein.
"Steve [Kerr] and Bob [Myers] came up to me and told me it was nonsense. It don't really try and pay to much mind to it, because I know how the media circus works these days. It's a 24-hour news cycle and you have to pump out some stories. It just didn't bother me too much. When you're not playing as well as you should, there's always speculation. So I let people speculate, the media speculate. It's fine with us. But I knew I was going to have at least...I was like 'Wow, this early. We haven't even played 10 games. Can a man get a season before the rumors start?' So I knew the answer to that. But it doesn't bother me too much. I don't go to Bob or Steve," Thompson said.
Thompson was then asked if Kerr and Myers hadn't come to him, would he have ignored it and not brought it up. That's when Scalabrine's name was pulled into the conversation.
"It came from Scalabrine. How reliable is Scal? Let's be honest," Thompson said.

So what would Thompson say if he had a chance to talk to Scalabrine?
"I tried to find him in Boston, but I couldn't find him. Scal was ducking me. It's alright. I'll see him at Oracle. It wasn't a big deal. Wishful thinking on Scal's part, so I wasn't too upset about it," Thompson said.
The Celtics will be in Oakland to face the Warriors on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
