Warriors guard Patrick McCaw went to UNLV, but he was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
And three weeks after the rookie won an NBA title, the Cardinals invited McCaw to Busch Stadium to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Monday's game against the Miami Marlins.
McCaw made sure to bring a friend with him: The Larry O'Brien Trophy.
After McCaw completed the ceremonial act, the Cardinals were so impressed, they asked the Warriors on Twitter if they could keep the 6-foot-7 swingman around.
McCaw seized the opportunity to ask for a minor league contract, to which the Cardinals told him to have his people call Cardinals mascot Fredbird's people.
No word on if the two sides reach an agreement on a deal.
