OAKLAND -- The Warriors still hold out hope of getting Pat McCaw's signature on a contract, but he was not at the team's Media Day on Monday and there is no indication he will arrive anytime soon.
"We'll start camp and do what we always do and see where it goes," coach Steve Kerr said.
The Warriors in June made a $1.74 million qualifying offer to McCaw in hopes of having the 6-foot-7 guard return for a third season. That contract, which is guaranteed, remains on the table. The Warriors are willing to consider a multi-year deal, according to a report in The Athletic.
"We're continuing to talk to his representatives," general manager Bob Myers said, referring to longtime NBA agent Bill Duffy of Walnut Creek. "Conversations have been cordial. We've been talking for most of the summer.
"We're going to keep talking. Hopefully, we reach a resolution that works for him and us."
Meanwhile, Myers concedes the Warriors have no choice but to proceed with the players currently on the roster.
"We have to examine all the different wing possibilities," he said. "There are veterans and there are guys we'll have in camp, a combination of that.

"Again, the primary hope is that we can get (McCaw) here. Our job is to give the coach and the organization the best team we can. If that requires something else, that's what we'll have to do. Our focus is to not do that."
Among the wings camp are first-round draft pick Jacob Evans III, as well as Damian Lee (on a two-way deal) and Danuel House Jr. Only Evans has a guaranteed contract.
