Report: Cavs No Longer Seeking Additional Player in Irving-Thomas Trade

It appears the trade involving Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas is back on track.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Thomas, whose recent physical prompted reports that the Cavaliers were looking to get further compensation from the Celtics, said "I am not damaged. I'll be back, and I'll be the same player."

Thomas is one of four pieces the Celtics are shipping to Cleveland in exchange for Irving. According to the same report, the Cavaliers are no longer seeking one of Boston's top young players.

However, they are still determined to land one of Boston's first-or-second round picks as compensation. per the report.

Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and a 2018 first-round pick via the Brooklyn Nets make up the rest of the initial deal.

A labrum injury ended Thomas' season in last year's Eastern Conference finals. He had the best season of his career last year, averaging almost 29 points per game. As a Celtic, Thomas made two All-Star teams.
