Report: Hawks Backed Out of Offer to Former Warriors Center

It appears free  agent Marreese Speights had an offer on the table, but the team making the offer backed out.

According to ESPN, the Hawks and Speights spent a week talking before the team decided to pull their offer.

No word on terms of the offer.

Before spending the 2016-17 season with the Clippers, the center spent three seasons with the Warriors. During his time in Oakland, he averaged 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 227 games. The big man made 33.3 percent of his 3-point attempts with the Warriors.

If the two sides had come to an agreement, Speights would have been re-united with former Warriors exec Travis Schlenk, who became the Hawks GM this offseason.
