Reports: Several Prominent Cavs Say Team Issues Might Not Be Fixable

The Warriors trailed the Cavs by seven points at the half on Monday night.

The final score: Golden State 118, Cleveland 108.

Following the game, several key members of the Cavs spoke anonymously to beat reporters who cover the team.

- Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

Multiple players acknowledged growing discontent and a strong sense of concern that unlike past seasons, the team does not have the capability to fix its problems and get back on a championship track.

- Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com:

There is growing discontent and concern in the Cavaliers' locker room that the root problems of their prolonged slump are not fixable.

- Jason Lloyd of The Athletic:

Multiple prominent players acknowledged privately that the problems now facing the Cavs might not be fixable.

The Cavs are 3-9 over their last 12 games and are in third place in the Eastern Conference -- 7.5 games behind the first-place Celtics.

Cleveland's defense is currently ranked 29th in the NBA.

Since returning from his hip injury, Isaiah Thomas is averaging 13.6 points and 3.4 assists, while shooting 36 percent overall and just over 23 percent from deep.

But as Kevin Durant said on Monday night:

"I don't think this game was any indication of what's gonna happen with this team down the line. They're gonna be much better. We all know that."
