Steph Curry Sidelined Sunday But Will Play in Warriors' Season Opener

OAKLAND - The Warriors scrimmaged on Sunday and Stephen Curry did not participate.

Golden State is continuing to maintain a measure of mystery behind his absences, but it is not an ankle issue, according to coach Steve Kerr.

Curry was restricted to individual work with the training staff and is expected to be available for opening night Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

"He's going to play," Kerr said. "He will play. He just didn't participate in the scrimmage."

Asked to elaborate on Curry, Kerr said only that the two-time MVP had "minor ailments" and that Sunday was considered a rehab day.

Curry played only the first 11 minutes of the preseason finale Friday night before leaving, with the Warriors announcing that he was "under the weather." There were no specifics.
