Warriors' Clark Begins Season in Battle for More Minutes

[Editor's note: The above video is from April 2016]

Player: Ian Clark (second season)

Position: Shooting guard

Height/weight: 6-3, 175

Age: 25

Salary: $980K (one-year contract)

2015-16 in review: After earning the final roster spot with a solid training camp, Clark played in 66 regular-season games (one start) and 16 postseason games (zero starts). As the team's fifth guard -– behind Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa -– Clark averaged 3.6 points, 1.0 assist and 8.8 minutes per game in the regular season.

2016-17 outlook: Clark's task is to fill the offensive void created by the departure of Barbosa, the veteran who became a free agent and signed with the Suns. Clark, however, is a different kind of player, more reliant on his jumper than on the daring transition penetration that defines Barbosa's game. Clark will have to find a way to do both while also ensuring that he is not a liability on defense.

Floor: He should be, at worst, the team's fifth guard.

Ceiling: If Clark is able to hold off rookie Patrick McCaw, which won't be easy, he will earn more minutes off the bench.
