Warriors' Center Rotations in Flux With West Out

OAKLAND -- JaVale McGee will make his sixth consecutive start at center Tuesday when the Warriors face the Nets at Oracle Arena. What follows, though, will be an experiment in rotations.

Veteran big man David West was declared out one hour before tipoff due to a cyst on his right arm. He is having a splendid season and routinely starts the second and fourth quarters.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr will have to adjust. He'll shuffle among rookie Jordan Bell, third-year man Kevon Looney and maybe veteran Zaza Pachulia, who has been the usual starter since he arrived before the 2016-17 season.

Brooklyn plays a lot of "small ball," which could limit 6-foot-11, 270-pound Pachulia and maybe even the 7-foot McGee while creating the likelihood of seeing more of Bell and Looney, both 6-9, at center.

"Everything is going to be based on matchups," Kerr said. "Tonight, we going to be facing a team that, if their last game is any indication, they're going to play Dante Cunningham or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at center five or six or seven minutes into the game. That's not a great matchup for certain guys, so we'll have to mix and match.

"But that's kind of how we play. We match up. We've got different guys, Jordan, Loon, guys who can match up with smaller centers. So we'll figure it out on the fly."
