Warriors Owner Joe Lacob Says Kevin Durant Coming Back for NBA Finals

Kevin Durant sustained a strained right calf late in the third quarter of the Warriors' Game 5 win over the Rockets in the second round of the NBA playoffs.

The reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP missed the Western Conference finals against the Trail Blazers and didn't travel to Portland for Games 3 and 4.

The Warriors are scheduled to provide an official update on KD's status on Thursday. Owner Joe Lacob might already know something that the public doesn't know yet.

"I don't know if you forgot so quickly how in the first round, and the second round, and how everyone was saying Kevin was the greatest player in the world and he was dominant," he told Sam Amick of The Atheltic on Monday night. "So he was incredibly important.

"Unfortunately, he got injured. He's coming back now for the Finals, and so the story's not fully written yet."

Oh. Well. Nice. Good to know.

So he will be ready for Game 1 in either Milwaukee or Toronto on Thursday, May 30?

That part is unclear at this point. But it sure sounds like the Dubs are expecting him to be back in uniform in the not-so-distant future.
