Warriors Player Profile: Eric Paschall Can Bring Consistency in Rookie Season

Editor's note: The Warriors' roster looks completely different than it did at this time last year. Golden State enters a new era at Chase Center with an injured Klay Thompson and without dynasty mainstays Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. As the Warriors' offseason goes on, we'll do a profile on every player on the revamped roster. Tuesday's addition is Eric Paschall

The Golden State Warriors selected Villanova combo forward Eric Paschall with the 41st pick and the expectation is that he can contribute right away.

After the Warriors' summer of change, he'll look to prove Golden State's hopes true.

Here's everything you need to know about the second-round pick:

Contract

3 years/$4,198,912

Last season

Paschall is coming off his best collegiate season, averaging 16.5 points and six rebounds, finishing his senior year leading Villanova to the second round of the NCAA tournament while earning a First-Team All-Big East selection.

However, with Mikal Bridges, Omari Spellman, Donte DiVincenzo and Jalen Brunson leaving for the NBA following the 2017-18 season, Paschal saw his shooting numbers dwindle with more offensive responsibility. During the 2017-18 season, Paschall -- with his 6-foot-8, 250-pound frame -- was counted on to guard multiple positions defensively en route to helping lead the Wildcats to a national title.

Outlook

The Warriors drafted Paschall in search of a quality that's eluded their previous picks not named Kevon Looney over the years: consistency.

Paschall averaged double figures in three of his four years at Villanova. While he won't be asked to take on a scoring burden, he's shown signs of promise.

Lauded for his shooting, Paschall impressed during the California Classic, shooting 61 percent from the field, including an 18-point, 6-of-8 performance in a loss to the Lakers. Golden State remains high on Paschall, even though he's a second-round draft pick, citing his toughness, IQ and defensive prowess have brought comparisons to Draymond Green.

If Pascal can even bring a third of Green's value, he'll see more than enough playing time next season.
