SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- CSN Bay Area announced Thursday that it will carry 145 games during the 2017 regular season, which will be streamed in-market for the first time.
The Giants will attempt to turn the odd-year tide starting on Sunday, April 2, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. All seven games of that season-opening swing through Phoenix and San Diego will be shown on CSN Bay Area, as well as the home opener on April 10. On April 18, the Giants visit Kansas City for the first time since Game 7 of the 2014 World Series. If the schedule holds, Madison Bumgarner will start the second game of that series.
The Giants will see last season's postseason foes early on. They visit the Mets the second week of May and the Cubs on May 22, with all of those games available on CSN Bay Area. The Giants will face the American League Central in interleague play, with the July 17-19 series against the reigning A.L. champion Indians available on CSN Bay Area. The network will also air 16 games against the rival Dodgers, who have won the N.L. West for four consecutive seasons. The Dodgers make their first appearance on the schedule on April 24.
This season's broadcasts will take on a slightly different look. The pre and post-game shows are being expanded to one hour and will be available on CSNBayArea.com and the NBC Sports App. Two recently-retired left-handers -- Jeremy Affeldt and Javier Lopez -- will join Duane Kuiper in the booth when Mike Krukow doesn't travel.
Live streaming will be available at no additional cost to CSN Bay Area subscribers for the first time.
