Curry Drops 42 on Wizards, Warriors Win 11th Straight

OAKLAND -- The Warriors’ win streak is at 11 and the magic number dropped to three Sunday after a 139-115 victory over the Washington Wizards at Oracle Arena.

The victory puts the Warriors (63-14) in a tie with the Chicago Bulls (1995-98) for the most wins over a three-year period with 203.

Stephen Curry poured in 42 points -- the 26th time he has scored at least 40 in a game -- to lead the offense. Klay Thompson dropped in 23 points, Shaun Livingston added a season-high 17, and David West and JaVale McGee each added 10.

Draymond Green finished with a triple-double, totaling 11 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds.

The Warriors feasted off Washington turnovers, piling up 28 points off 15 giveaways, and shot 56.2 percent from the field while limiting the Wizards to 46.7-percent shooting.

The Warriors during their 11-game streak have held every opponent under 50 percent from the field.

Bradley Beal and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 20 points each to lead the Wizards (46-31), who concluded a five-game road trip with three straight losses.

STANDOUT PERFORMER: It has to be Curry, who played one of his most phenomenal games this season.

Curry’s line: 42 points (15 of 22 from the field, 9-of-14 beyond the arc, 3-of-3 from the line), eight assists, one steal and one turnover. He played 35 minutes and was plus-26 for the game.

Reaching the 30-point mark for the 18th time this season and the second time in the past four games, Curry also surpassed 300 3-pointers for the second consecutive season, the only player to do so.

TURNING POINT: After the Wizards closed within two, 55-53, with 2:11 left in the second quarter, the Warriors closed the half on a 12-4 run to take a 67-57 lead into intermission.

The Warriors pushed the lead as high as 22 (100-78) in the third quarter, and the Wizards got no closer than nine in the fourth before the Warriors closed with a 23-8 run.

INJURY UPDATE: Warriors: F Kevin Durant (L MCL sprain, tibial bone bruise) and F Kevon Looney (L hip strain) were listed as out. C Damian Jones is on assignment with Santa Cruz of the NBA Development League.

Wizards: F Markieff Morris (R ankle sprain) was listed as questionable and upgraded to available.

WHAT’S NEXT: The Warriors return to action Tuesday night, when they play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Oracle Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:35.
