Despite 18-inning Marathon Game, Madison Bumgarner Got Plenty of Sleep

The Giants arrived at Oracle Park on Saturday just a few hours after leaving.

In the wake of an 18-inning marathon in which the Giants went home winners over the Rockies, the Orange and Black arrived in energized spirits which was surprising, but not everyone lacked snoozes.

With Madison Bumgarner starting on the bump, he was fast asleep in the 10th inning knowing he was getting those responsibilities prior to the 5-2 win

"I checked my phone there in the 16th," he told reporters. "I was like 'My goodness.' I tapped my wife and was like 'Hey, they're still playing.'"

Reporters laughed at the response -- possibly almost in envy.

So MadBum got enough sleep -- and it showed. He finished his first win of the season pitching seven innings with seven strikeouts.

Buster Posey also finished the game going 2-for4, driving in his first RBI of the season with a double in the third inning. And Kevin Pillar hit yet another home run in the fifth bringing his home run total to four on the season.

And while the Rockies received their eighth consecutive loss of the season, it appeared the Giants were in positive spirits, despite getting very little sleep.
