Donald Trump says NFL ratings are down due to politics and Colin Kaepernick.
The Republican nominee on Sunday held a rally in Greeley, Colorado at the same time the Denver Broncos were playing. During the rally, Trump provided his reasons why NFL ratings have taken a dive.
"Number one is, this politics, they're finding, is a much rougher game than football, and more exciting. And honestly, we've taken a lot of people away from the NFL. And the other reason is Kaepernick," Trump said.
A chorus of boos from the crowd followed after Trump mentioned the San Francisco 49ers quarterback. (View video below)
Kaepernick this season has refused to stand for the national anthem before games in protest of racial discrimination against blacks in the United States, particularly after a spate of police shootings of African Americans.
