Draymond on Potential Finals Rematch: ‘I Want to Destroy Cleveland'

Draymond Green wants another shot at the Cavs.

The Warriors forward emphatically made that point during a recent interview with TNT's David Aldridge.

Asked if Cleveland is the only team he wants if the Warriors happen to get back to The Finals for a third straight year, Green prefaced his response by saying he just wants to win the Western Conference. But then he didn't hold back when pondering a potential third straight meeting with the Cavs.

"No. I want to win the Western Conference, try to beat everybody in the Western Conference -- which is a tough task. There are so many good teams. So that’s got to be our only focus, to win the Western Conference. And then, if Cleveland comes out of the east, I want to destroy Cleveland. No ifs, ands and buts about it. But I also know that there’s steps to get to that point. And if and when we get to that point, I want to annihilate them," Green told Aldridge.

Green was asked again. If the Warriors get to The Finals and the Cavs get there as well...

"I want to completely destroy them. No ifs, ands or buts about it. That won’t change. I’m not saying we’re going to look forward to that. Like I said, there’s a long road ahead. And it’ll be a tough, tough road to get there. Nonetheless, if we get there, and they get there, I want to destroy them. Really ain’t no other way to put it," Green said.

As for the Warriors' Game 7 loss to the Cavs, Green was asked if he's gone back and watched the tape.

"You know, my mom was watching it one day. She was at my house. And I looked at it a little bit, and then she turned it off, and I left the house. It was kind of good. I really don’t want to see it. It’s kind of spoiled milk to me. It is what it is. They won, and it’s time to move on. I don’t know if I can sit and watch that game and feel comfortable," Green said.

There's a lot of time between now and potential Finals rematch. Until then, Green will have to settle for two regular season matchups against LeBron James and the Cavs: Christmas Day in Cleveland and January 16 in Oakland.
