Fashion Designers Create Football Art for Super Bowl 50 Auction

Fashion meets football. In honor of the Super Bowl’s 50th anniversary, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the National Football League (NFL) have teamed up for a designer football auction.

Fifty football art pieces created by some of the CFDA’s most illustrious designers, from Betsey Johnson to Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman to Rachel Zoe, will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the NFL Foundation. The auction runs through Feb. 14.

The bespoked and bedazzled pigskins are on display at various Super Bowl-related locations around the Bay Area, including the NFL Shop at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. See a sampling of the items up for auction in the slideshow above.
