Giants Activate Brian Wilson

The San Francisco Giants are a winning streak. And if that news wasn't good enough for fans, hear this:

Closer Brian Wilson has been taken off the disabled list and reinstated. The team made that announcement on their Facebook page Sunday morning.

The beard is back!

He was activated prior to Sunday's game and is available to come off the bench in Denver.

CSN Bay Area is reporting it would not close the game, but could come in as a relief pitcher.

On Saturday night, the Orange and Black scored four runs in the eighth and then held on to beat the Colorado Rockies 6-5.  The close score shows it was another game of torture that included the potential winning run for the Rockies on a base pad at the end of the game.

The Giants are currently five games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West with 10 games to play.  They made up four games in the past week.

Arizona and the Giants have three more to play in Arizona next weekend.  The Giants have said internally that their goal is to be three back for that series which starts Friday.

Wilson hasn't pitched since Aug. 15.  Bruce Bochy told MLB.com that Wilson wants to return to the mound this season to have "peace of mind" heading into the winter.
