Giants Offense Explodes Behind Big Sadowski

Maybe all the Giants' lineup needed was a couple of games off, and the hot hand of a rookie pitcher.

After scoring just three runs in their last two contests combined, the San Francisco bats sprang to life Friday night at AT&T Park, scoring 13 runs in the series opener against the Astros, as the Giants took game one, 13-0.

Five Giants had multiple hits, with Pablo Sandoval leading the way.  The Panda was two-for-five with three RBI, including a two-run homerun in the first inning, and a run-scoring triple in the third.  Nate Schierholtz did his part with a three-for-four performance, a pair of RBI and three runs scored.

Ryan Sadowski took care of the rest.

In just his second career start, the Giants' rookie pitcher threw seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing just three hits and one walk.  Sadowski has yet to give up a run in 13 innings to open his career, and improved to 2-0.
