Giants Try to Recover From Rough Start

The San Francisco Giants will try to recover from a rough opening night outing by the club's ace Tim Lincecum.

Manager Bruce Bochy will send the left-handed Madison Bumgarner to the mound Saturday a against Daniel Hudson of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The game will start at 1:05 p.m. in Arizona and it can't be watched live on Fox and listened to on KNBR 680 AM on the radio.

Friday is an opening day that both the Giants and the team's fans will quickly want to forget.

Lincecum pitched just 5 and 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on six hits, including three runs in the first inning.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner was working without his slider, which he said he is going to avoid using early on in the season to preserve his arm.

The team was boosted by the return of catcher Buster Posey, who is expected to play behind the plate all weekend.

The Giants will hope Bumgarner will fair better than Lincecum to avoid starting off the season 0-2.
