Giants CEO Larry Baer Cites ‘new Fan Experiences' in Oracle Park Changes

"As always, we are deeply grateful for your loyalty to the Giants ... "

The season came and went for the Orange and Black and the ups and downs were sealed with a concluding note from team president and CEO Larry Baer. The better was posted on the official Twitter account of the Giants that still possesses the #ThankYouBoch hashtag:

In the letter, Baer confirmed the construction happening at Oracle Park in order to move the bullpens to the outfield. He explained the change is in order to "make foul territory safer for players," as well as creating a more entertaining experience for fans.

More changes could be coming as well, he wrote in the letter.

Over the season we witnessed a vast array of moves by president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and some of those moves introduced the future of the team. Mike Yastrzemski was one of those moves and in addition to a historical series at Fenway Park, his .272/.334/.518 line with 21 home runs and 55 RBI show he was a bright spot even during the dim times.

But they weren't always dark.

An exhilarating 19-6 run in July was a spark during the season that had Giants remaining hopeful. And that hope remains with a glimpse into the future with promising outings from Mauricio Dubón, Logan Webb, Tyler Beede and Dereck Rodriguez.

Which is ultimately what Zaidi wanted.

Baer concluded his note welcoming thoughts and ideas in preparation for the 2020 season. One in which will be without the beloved Bruce Bochy who celebrated his 2,003rd win with the Giants and announced his retirement.
