The Giants are sending their top two prospects to the Arizona Fall League this year to face some of the best young talent in baseball.
Center fielder Heliot Ramos will join Joey Bart on the Scottsdale Scorpions, 16 days after their season ends in Double-A with the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Bart and Ramos are joining five other Giants in the AFL, with full rosters revealed Wednesday.
San Francisco's best two prospects have played with each other all season long. They began the year in High Class A with the San Jose Giants and were promoted to Double-A on the same day. The duo even played in the Futures Game against each other this year.
On Aug. 20, it was announced that Bart would play in the AFL, prompting speculation Ramos would join him.
Ramos, 19, has been the Giants' most impressive prospect this season. The teenage center fielder made huge strides at the plate in San Jose, slashing .306/.385/.500 with 13 homers and 18 doubles. He's cooled down in the pitcher-friendly Eastern League, batting .217 with two long balls in 18 games for Richmond, but he's extremely young for Double-A.
Before being promoted, Ramos impressed California League coaches so much that they awarded him three different honors: Best Power, Best Defensive Outfielder and Most Exciting Prospect. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 188 pounds, the first-round pick from the 2017 MLB Draft has shown off five-tool potential this year.

Ramos and Bart will be joined by Giants prospects Tristan Beck, Jalen Miller, Jacob Heyward, Frank Rubio and Bryce Tucker.
The future of the Giants begins with Bart and Ramos. Challenging them in the desert will only help get them to San Francisco faster.
