Harrison Barnes: ‘I Want to Come Back' to Warriors

Harrison Barnes will become a restricted free agent on July 1.

Will he sign an offer sheet from another team? Is he looking for a bigger role elsewhere?

"The first thing is, I want to come back," Barnes told SiriusXM NBA Radio.

With the Warriors gearing up to make a run at Kevin Durant, Barnes' future in Golden State is uncertain.

Should Barnes sign a contract with another franchise, the Warriors would have 72 hours to either match or let him walk.

Back in early February, when The Vertical reported that the Warriors are the "significant frontrunners" to land Durant should he elect to leave Oklahoma City, Barnes responded.

“Oh man, that’s part of the business," Barnes said. "He’s (Durant) a great player. If that’s the move they want to make, you know, hopefully, it works out...

“It’s always something, right? The first summer it was Dwight (Howard). The next summer it was Kevin Love. Every single year, there’s always been somebody who the Warriors wanted or somebody who wanted to come here. That’s part of the business. That stuff happens.

“If it happens, great. If it doesn’t, great. At the end of the day, I’ll still get the chance to be in NBA and still get to play.”

Golden State selected Barnes with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2012 draft.

During the 2015-16 regular season, he averaged 11.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from deep.

Over the final three games of the NBA Finals, Barnes averaged 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. He went 5-for-32 (15.6 percent) from the field, and 3-for-15 (20 percent) from beyond the arc.
