Planning a wedding is never easy -- well, at least from what I've heard. Still, despite the months and months of planning, the blueprints sometimes change -- but perhaps for the better.
Richard Ivanowski and his lovely future bride Kate of Sacramento, are doing what many engaged couples do and are figuring out the finishing touches on their big day. But they didn't realize they were going to get some assistance, and inspiration from Kings forward Harry Giles -- but they did.
You see, Richard sought some help from Twitter in hopes of wearing a Giles jersey at his wedding. All he needed was 10,000 retweets -- well maybe 20,000. OK, 10,000 it was -- after he ran the idea by his fiancée, of course.

Giles, of course, caught wind of it after fellow members of the Kings' media community chipped in by pressing the button.
Every little bit counts.

And wouldn't you know it -- they, well mainly Richard, got his wish: 10K retweets. Mission accomplished:

As a woman myself, I wanted to know -- just between us girls -- if the future Mrs. was genuinely OK knowing this sports jersey was going to be a part of her wedding -- and I wasn't the first to inquire such things.
"This is a question a lot of my girlfriends and my mom asked me," she told NBC Sports California. "And I seriously, genuinely am OK -- I mean, I had to put up a little bit of a fight to use it against him in the future."
And not an actual quarrel by any means -- more along the lines of slightly hanging it over his head when some domestic duties need to be tended to.
For instance: "Remember how I let you wear the jersey to our wedding -- you need to take the trash out."
I respect it.
She was simply "stacking her chips for the future." But she didn't think this would actually play out. How could he possibly get that many retweets? She didn't even think the number she threw out there mattered -- there's no way this could come to fruition ... right?
"He jokes around a lot so when I saw it slowly growing and growing I had this thought 'Oh my -- this is really going to happen.'"
That's when the execution began -- Richard's confidence in hitting that number was apparent, he knew he would be wearing this jersey at the wedding. All that had to happen now was how were they going to do it?
I won't spoil the specifics for those planning on attending, but trust me, it'll be beautiful -- especially with the amount of support Kate has shown her soon-to-be husband.
Richard is not only a huge Kings fan, but is a writer in his own right covering the team for an SB Nation affiliate.
And his love for Giles? Well, there's a fantastic story behind that as well.
"I'm a big proponent of the underdog," he explained. "Giles has gone through two major injuries already in his young career but he's a fighter and a tremendous talent. When he's performing at his peak, he's amazing to watch."
He also compliments the rookies' content and what he posts on social media -- stuff along the lines of people not believing in him.
"He's a fighter," Richard said again. And the first player he ever got to interview.

And Giles certainly left an impression on Kate.
"I don't really know him as a player," she said. "He sent us a really nice message wishing us a blessed marriage -- and I thought that was very kind of him."
