How Many Career Points for Kevin Durant? ‘I'm More Interested in…'

In NBA history, 43 players have scored at least 20,000 career points.

Kevin Durant is currently at 19,950 career points.

How many points does he think he can ultimately amass?

"I don't really care, man, to be honest," Durant recently told The Athletic's Anthony Slater. "I used to be really big on 'I want to be the highest scorer to ever play.' But, my skills speak for themselves. You just gotta watch. You just can't look at my numbers ... you gonna have to watch and figure out what I did to get these points, and to score and to score effectively and also win at the same time.

"So I'm more so interested in that. But I got a long time to play hopefully and I'm just gonna keep doing what I do, and we'll see what happens at the end. I don't want to put a cap on it."

Six players are members of the "30,000 Points Club" -- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Dirk Nowitzki.

LeBron James (29,812 points) will soon become the seventh.

Durant, who is only 29 years old, has a good chance to reach the 30,000 mark, but as he told The Athletic:

"I had a year full of injuries that stopped me -- I missed 20 games last year and then I missed 10 games the year before that ... and I did a year of college. Who knows. We'll see."

And don't forget that playing for the Warriors has decreased the need for Durant to score.

"It is giving up a couple points a night, but it's worth it," Durant said.
