The Warriors have a center problem. This isn't anything new, but with Kevon Looney out for at least Golden State's next two games, the frontcourt has become that much more of an issue.
Good news could be on the way, though.
Injured Warriors center Willie Cauley-Stein took a big step towards his return to the Dubs on Saturday, as he practiced with the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State's G League affiliate.

Cauley-Stein currently is rehabbing a left mid-foot strain. He injured his foot late last month while scrimmaging and was seen on crutches during Warriors Media Day.
The only healthy true center on the Warriors' roster right now is Marquese Chriss, who earned a roster spot as a training camp invitee.

As for Looney, the UCLA product aggravated his hamstring in Golden State's season-opening loss to the Clippers and is dealing with a "neuropathic problem" that could keep him out for much longer than the team's current road trip. Omari Spellman and Draymond Green each will receive minutes at center, though both players probably are better suited as power forwards.
The Warriors signed Cauley-Stein to a two-year contract this offseason in hopes the ultra-athletic big man could be a lob threat and snatch rebounds with ease. It looks like those hopes soon could turn to reality.
