Until he either re-signs with the Warriors or takes his talents elsewhere, talks of free agency will continue to follow Dubs superstar Kevin Durant.
And those talks have now ramped up with recent comments from the Warriors star himself.
"I just want to make sure I get as much money as I can on my next deal so I can stack up my money and figure it out," Durant said on Posted Up with Chris Haynes. "That's just the plan. Play basketball and stack money."
Durant signed a two-year, $61.5 million contract with the Warriors this past offseason. The deal, however, has a 2019 player option, meaning he'll likely opt out and become a free agent again after this season.
When the Warriors first recruited Durant, the "Hamptons Five" quintet of himself, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala was created. The four Warriors veterans ventured out to tell the former Thunder star why he should move west as the front office put on the glitz and glam for him.
This time around though, Durant doesn't want any of that.

"Ain't nobody can recruit me no more," Durant said on Haynes' podcast. "I want to dictate the environment that I want to be in. You can't give me the bells and whistles. I would rather see what you do on a day-to-day basis. That stuff really doesn't impress me.
"Arenas and doing extra s--- just for me? Like nah. I just want to see if you're a real person, if you are going to hold people accountable every day. Are we all coming to work and enjoying basketball every day? Yeah, that's exactly what I'm getting here (with the Warriors)."
Ever since the Warriors broke ground on the Chase Center, their new home in San Francisco starting next season, they have brought Durant along for the ride. In November, he was the first player to tour the new facility.
"I can see a lot of points being scored here," Durant said during the tour. "My imagination is going wild right now with possibilities."
Buckle up, because the noise around Durant's future with the Warriors is only going to get louder the closer we get to next summer.
