Khris Davis' Historic .247 Batting Average Starts in Spring Training

Remember when 1-4-3 was a thing? Well, 2-4-7 is really a thing for Khris Davis.

The A's slugger is Mr. Consistency, even when the games don't count. Davis made MLB history last season by finishing the year with a .247 batting average for an almost comical fourth straight time. It turns out this is pretty much always his batting average.

Not only does Davis always hit .247 in the regular season, he does so in spring training, too. That's right, he has a .247 career batting average in the spring. But soon, that number could change.

Davis is yet to play thus far in spring, as the A's DH deals with a mild left calf sprain. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports Davis is expected to play Friday against the Mets.

If Davis can stay consistent with his power numbers and hit 48 home runs again in 2019, he's set for a hefty payday when he becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
