Khris Davis Aims to Be Part of MLB History After Another Multi-homer Game

Thursday was a day ending in "y," which meant A's slugger Khris Davis was more than likely hit a home run within 24 hours of the last time he hit a ball over the fence.

Well, that's not entirely accurate.

You see, he hit two home runs in the A's 8-5 win over the Orioles in the series finale. This adds to a very impressive stat. courtesy of A's PR:

It's a bit of a coincidence -- well, a lot of a coincidence, the last time a team did this was when Baltimore did it in 2016. But I don't make the rules. Baseball is beautiful and weird that way.

Khrush could also become just the fifth player in league history since 1908 to hit multiple home runs in three straight games if he hits another two (or more) long balls on Friday.

Is that good? Yes, yes it is.

Marcus Semien, Kendrys Morales, and Josh Phegley also hit home runs on Thursday in the game that mirrored a home run derby.

The A's will head back on the road to Arlington to face the Rangers on Friday to begin a four-game series. The Rangers currently sit in last place in the AL West.

Mike Fiers will get starting honors and he has plenty of exposure to the Rangers' lineup. So far in his career, he has not very successful at that ballpark. Over four career appearances in Arlington, hitters boast a .317 average against him with just 15 strikeouts in 82 at bats.
