SACRAMENTO -- Prior to taking on the Washington Wizards Friday evening at Golden 1 Center, the Sacramento Kings took care of a few action items on the agenda.
With the October 31 deadline looming, Vlade Divac exercised team options for next season on De'Aaron Fox, Justin Jackson, Buddy Hield, Harry Giles and Skal Labissiere.
Rookie scale contracts for first-round picks are always for two seasons with team options for both year three and year four.
As the No. 6 overall selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, Hield is scheduled to make $4.8 million next season for Sacramento. Through five games, he's averaging 16.2 points and five rebounds in 29.4 minutes per game for the Kings.
Labissiere has played sparingly so far this season, but as the 28th pick in 2016, his contract for next season is very manageable by NBA standards at $2.3 million.
Fox, Jackson and Giles were all selected in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft. Their third-year options were an easy decision for Divac and his staff.
As the Kings' starting point guard, Fox is off to a great start for Sacramento, averaging 17.6 points, 6.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 32.8 minutes. As a top-five selection, Fox is scheduled to make $6.4 million next season.
