SACRAMENTO -- The Kings are getting into the Summer League game. Sacramento will host the first annual "California Classic" on July 2, 3, 5 at Golden 1 Center.
The three-day tournament includes teams from the Kings, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers with a double-header format planned for each evening.
"We're excited to welcome basketball fans, teams and the NBA to tip-off the summer league season in Sacramento and enjoy the best that Northern California has to offer," Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé said via press release. "Golden 1 Center and Downtown Commons are a perfect setting for NBA action, blending entertainment, technology, community and basketball."
According to the team, the games will follow a similar format to the Las Vegas Summer League. Games will consist of four 10-minute quarters and include modified rules.
The tournament will act as a tune up for Las Vegas Summer League, which runs July 6-17. The Kings will host a Fan Zone outside of the arena featuring games, live entertainment and a special post-game outdoor party on July 3.
Tickets go on sale Monday for season ticket members and May 17 for the general public.
