The Kings' (39-40) road to their first .500 record since 2005-06 has a significant obstacle in its way Friday night.
Sacramento squares off with the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City, just as the Jazz is heating up. Utah has won 11 of its last 12 games, and is riding a six-game winning streak.

Since March 13, the Jazz have the league-best defensive rating (101.0) and offensive rating (117.8). They have climbed all the way to fifth in the Western Conference, and have an outside chance of securing home-court advantage for the first round with a strong finish.
The Kings are coming off of a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, can move to a win away from .500 if they beat the Jazz. Sacramento will be without big man Willie Cauley-Stein due to a family issue, a league source told NBC Sports California's James Ham.
