With a little over two minutes remaining in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Warriors guard Klay Thompson went to the locker room to have his left knee evaluated.
Before the five-time All-Star left Oracle Arena to undergo an MRI, he spoke with a teammate who was 3,000 miles away.
Ramona Shelburne of ESPN has the details:
Klay Thompson was in the Warriors locker room, his left knee wrapped in ice, hoping that the injury he'd just suffered wasn't as bad as the doctors suspected.
Then his phone rang. Durant was on the line, FaceTiming him from New York, where he's recovering from surgery on his torn Achilles.
"I heard them talking," Klay's father, Mychal, said of the conversation. "But I don't think they'd want me to divulge it.

"They were encouraging each other to come back strong," Mychal Thompson said. "They got unfinished business."
Warriors fans everywhere are hoping that KD and Klay re-sign in free agency, get healthy and help lead the Dubs to more championships in the coming years.
But just because of Mychal Thompson's "unfinished business" comment, you should not jump to conclusions and/or assume that this means both Klay and KD will be back.

While it seems like a virtual lock for Klay to return, nobody knows what the two-time NBA Finals MVP is going to do.
We will finally have answers in a couple weeks. But at this point, Warriors management can only hope that Klay and KD will have stalls in the home locker room at Chase Center next season.
