Kobe Claims Lakers Soon Will Be Champs, Laugh in Warriors Fans' Faces

The Black Mamba has slithered back into the headlines.

With LeBron James on board and the Lakers sporting a shiny 14-9 record through Monday's NBA action, Kobe Bryant threw out some big words at a Lakers All-Access event Monday night in Los Angeles.

"They will figure it out," Bryant said, according to ESPN. "They have talented pieces and [Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka] has put them in position with incredible flexibility. They will figure it out. So, enjoy the journey because we'll be champions before you know it, and then we'll just be laughing at all the Warrior fans who all of the sudden came out of nowhere."

Those are fighting words, Kobe.

In case you needed a reminder (of course you do), the Lakers haven't won an NBA championship since the 2009-10 season. That means Kobe didn't win a title in his last six NBA seasons. The Lakers lost at least 55 games in each of Kobe's last three seasons in the league.

So, just remember Kobe, you needed LeBron to come save your franchise and restore it to relevance.
