Kyrie Irving Ruled Out for Celtics Vs. Kings Game With Thigh Contusion

The Kings' chances of beating the Celtics on Wednesday night just got a big boost.

Boston has ruled starting point guard Kyrie Irving out due to a left thigh contusion, the team announced a little more than four hours before tip-off.

Irving played 30 minutes in the Celtics' win over the Warriors on Tuesday night.

With the Kings chasing the Spurs and Clippers for one of the final playoff spots in the Western Conference, this is a significant development.

Every game for the Kings is a must-win at this point, but the cards are stacked in their favor on this night. They will be playing in front of an energetic crowd, Irving is out and the Celtics are on the second night of a back-to-back.
