Los Angeles Rams Team Custodian Gets Surprise of Lifetime With Tickets to Super Bowl LIII

The Los Angeles Rams face off with the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.

Summoned to the general manager's office, a Los Angeles Rams employee feared the worst.

But a team custodian got the surprise of a lifetime. Video seen by a half-million people shows the moment the LA Rams shocked their custodian with airfare and tickets for two to Super Bowl LIII.

"You mean so much to us," said Rams star wide receiver Brandin Cooks. "Everything you do does not go unnoticed."

Rams employee Alfonso Garcia was visibly moved, but waited to tell his 8-year-old son, Josh, in person at a youth football event.

"I told him we're not going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game," Garcia said. "We're going to Atlanta to be in the stadium to see the Rams beat the Patriots."

The Garcias leave for Mercedes-Benz Stadium a week from Saturday. It's their first time ever in Atlanta.

"It makes me feel really happy," Josh says. "I've never been to a Super Bowl before."

The training facility Garcia maintains is on the Cal Lutheran campus. But he admits having no idea exactly who he'd be working for when he first got the job.

"When they said they were going to go and hire me on, that's when they let me know who I was actually gonna be working for."

As cameras captured the NFC Champion LA Rams at practice Friday, we focused on the Garcia, father and son, also Super Bowl bound.

"To come to work everyday ... It's a privilege to be here," Garcia said. "And I get paid for it."

The younger Garcia is already feeling victorious. "I think it's probably gonna be 27-20," the boy says. "Rams are gonna win."
