Lynch's Agent: Marshawn Misses Football, Unsure If He'll Return

The prospect of Marshawn Lynch coming out of retirement to join the Raiders has been a scalding topic in recent days. National reports have stated the Raiders have interest, and that the powerful running back is seriously considering a return.

If that's the case, Lynch's agent hasn't heard about it.

Doug Hendrickson provided some insight on the matter Tuesday in an interview with KNBR, and said he hasn't even spoken with Lynch about coming back.

"Well in all sincerity, Marshawn's been in Canada," Hendrickson told KNBR, with quotes pulled from the station's website. "I'm due to see him this week. So he and I have not spoken about this at all. So it was the media who took the ball and kind of ran with it. He's one of the most unique guys I've ever been with in my life. Marshawn, it wouldn't shock me in three days if he says, ‘Hey, I want to play.' It wouldn't shock me if he says, ‘Nah, I don't know where this came from. I don't want to play.'"

Hendrickson said Lynch misses a sport he dominated at Oakland Tech High, the University of California and the NFL, and that a possible return won't be financially based. Ultimately, there's no telling what he'll do.

"He doesn't spend any of the money he's made. He's got a lot of money," Hendrickson said. "He does miss football, no question. He loves the game of football. He's 30. But until I meet with him this week, you know, I don't know what his mindset is. He's the kind of guy that can shift by the hour."

Lynch retired from NFL football after the 2016 season, and has had some fun traveling the world, guest starring on television shows and doing charitable work in Oakland, a hometown he champions at every turn. He also owns a popular Beast Mode apparel company, which has stores in Oakland and Seattle.

"Marshawn's always done it his way," Hendrickson said. "He hasn't succumbed to public pressure. He does it how he wants to do it. All the athletes look at him and want to do the same thing, but they can't do it. He's authentic. He's real."
