McCaw Carried Off Court in a Gurney After Scary Fall Vs Kings

SACRAMENTO -- Warriors guard Pat McCaw was placed on a gurney by medical personnel and wheeled out of Golden 1 Center Saturday night after sustaining an apparent back injury on a hard fall underneath the basket.

With 41.8 seconds remaining in the third quarter, McCaw drove in for a dunk and was hit in on descent by Kings forward Vince Carter, whose shoulder knocked McCaw off balance in midair.

McCaw landed and immediately rolled over, writhing in pain, remaining down for nearly 10 minutes before trainers summoned EMTs, who eventually strapped McCaw to a stretcher, lifted him onto a gurney and accompanied him out of the arena.

Carter was assessed a flagrant-1 personal foul. With McCaw unable to shoot, Warriors coach Steve Kerr selected Kevin Durant. He made the free throw, giving the Warriors an 89-69 lead.
