Former San Francisco Giants star -- and near 2012 batting-title champ and pennant scapegoat -- Melky Cabrera has reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Blue Jays.
Cabrera's deal, according to Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com, is worth $16 million.
That makes just another stunning move by Toronto this offseason, as they previously acquired for Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle from the Miami Marlins in a blockbuster, out-of-nowhere trade.
Cabrera, who batted .346 last season and hit 11 homers with the Giants, was suspended 50 games after a positive test for performance-enhancing drugs.
The MelkMan was named to the All-Star Game in Kansas City and won the All-Star MVP award (therefore netting the Giants homefield advantage in the World Series) before being nailed by the commissioner's office.
It was believed, at least during the season, that Cabrera would land a monster deal from someone this offseason. He was on pace for a second-straight 200-hit season and was leading MLB in multiple categories.
Instead, he got suspended and likely cost himself millions and millions of dollars.

However, recouping $16 million isn't all that bad -- Melky was able to pick up a two-year deal worth reasonable money, instead of landing a "show-me" contract from someone that would've likely only been for one year.
Cabrera was eligible to be reactivated by the Giants for the NLCS, but they chose to keep him off the roster ... and won the World Series anyway.
This will be Melky's fifth team in five seasons.
The Blue Jays, interestingly, will visit AT&T Park on June 4 and 5, and the Giants will play in Toronto on May 14 and 15. It'll be fascinating to see his reception in San Francisco.
