Mike Fiers Get No-decision in Solid Debut, A's Score Late to Beat Dodgers

BOX SCORE

Mike Fiers was perfect through four innings and allowed just one run in 5.1 inning in his debut. Two innings later, the A's pushed a run across to beat the Dodgers 3-2 on Wednesday night.

With runners on the corners and one out in the bottom of the eighth, Khris Davis hit a slow chopper to third base. Manny Machado threw home to try and get Marcus Semien, but Yasmani Grandal couldn't hang on to the ball, allowing Semien to score the eventual game-winning run.

Making his first start since being acquired by the A's on Monday, Fiers allowed four hits, one earned run while striking out eight. He didn't walk a batter.

Blake Treinen came on in the ninth and worked around a one-out walk to record his 29th save of the season.
