Friday marked the beginning of MLB free agency, otherwise known as "Read Into Everything Bryce Harper Does" Season. The Washington Nationals will reportedly tender a qualifying offer to the superstar outfielder, but his choice of headwear may or may not have sent fans of the Nationals, Giants, and 27 other teams nto a frenzy.
In an Instagram story he posted after voting early on Friday, Harper wore a Chicago Bulls hat. Chicago, of course, is home to the Cubs, who oddsmakers gave the second-best shot of signing the 26-year-old.

Harper's documented his love of San Francisco on social media, but what has he posted about the Windy City? Well, here's his oldest tweet about Chicago.
First time in Chicago and at Wrigley! I can't wait to see the ivy and just be in such an historic place! #blessed #cubsvsnats— Bryce Harper (@Bharper3407) August 19, 2013

He also tweeted a bit about Chicago's NHL team during the 2013-2014 season, and was even photographed with some of the players at one point.

Sure, Harper's social-media history may not constitute "an agreement" or be "legally binding" in any way, but where's the fun in that?
