MLB Players’ Weekend: A’s Release Nicknames for Their 2019 Jerseys

[CSNBY] MLB Players' Weekend: A's release nicknames for their 2019 jerseys

The best weekend of the MLB season is upon us.

That's right, it's time to have a little fun -- baseball is just a game after all -- and enjoy Players' Weekend and the goofy nicknames and often hideous jerseys it comes with.

On Tuesday, the nicknames each player has chosen started to leak out, and the A's have some winners and some flat out duds.

Josh Phegley going with "PTBNL" is pretty solid, and obviously, Nick Martini going with the martini emoji is one for the books. Personally, I'd give the nod to Liam Hendriks for going with "Slydah" because who doesn't love a good Australian accent.

As for the duds, I'm going to need a little more out of Homer Bailey (Homer), Khris Davis (KD) and Chris Bassitt (C Bass).

As for this year's jerseys, MLB curiously went with the monochromatic edition. And it's ... not great.

Why?

Players' Weekend will take place Aug. 23-25 when the A's take on the Giants.
