SAN FRANCISCO -- The outfielder who briefly turned the Giants' fortunes around in 2019 will be back next year.

Alex Dickerson agreed Monday to a one-year deal worth $925,000, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported, citing a source. The deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players is Monday at 5 p.m., and Dickerson was one of six eligible Giants, along with Kevin Pillar, Donovan Solano, Joey Rickard, Tyler Anderson and Wandy Peralta. Rosenthal also reported that Peralta, a left-handed pitcher, will make $805,000.

Bringing Dickerson back was a no-brainer, and the Giants were able to do so at a cost below the projection of $1.2 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors. The Giants acquired Dickerson in a minor trade with the Padres and he helped the team take off in July with a stunning stretch at the plate.

Dickerson hit .393 that month with four homers and 11 RBI as the Giants briefly got back into the Wild Card race. Overall, he batted .276 with six homers, 13 doubles and 28 RBI in 190 plate appearances.

Dickerson has always been a talented hitter who has been limited by injuries, and 2019 was no different. He went on the Injured List in August with an oblique injury and he struggled to put the pain behind him down the stretch. At the end of the year, Dickerson said he plans to spend the offseason trying to find solutions for persistent back and side issues.

"With the impact potential he showed, he's going to play as much as his body will allow," Farhan Zaidi said in his end-of-season press conference.

If healthy, Dickerson could hit in the heart of the order for the Giants and see plenty of time in left field.

Peralta, 28, was picked up from the Reds and made eight appearances in September. He has a live arm and the Giants will throw him into the bullpen mix next spring.
