Draymond Green Makes Bold Warriors Claim With Klay Thompson Healthy

After what was expected to be a gap year during the 2019-20 season, the Warriors planned to return to the NBA spotlight and title contention this past season.

Those plans were altered when Klay Thompson tore his Achilles in November, pushing the date for the Warriors' grand return back a year. Without Thompson, Steph Curry, Draymond Green and a new supporting cast fought valiantly but were eventually bounced from the NBA play-in tournament by the Memphis Grizzlies.

But with Thompson set to return at some point next season, Green is confident the Warriors will return to their title-winning ways.

"I think we’ll win the Finals again next year. Zero doubt," Green said Wednesday on a Bleacher Report AMA when asked how far the Warriors will go next season with Thompson back.

Given how stacked the Western Conference is, and the emergence of the superpower Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference, Green and the Warriors will face a treacherous path back to the top even with Thompson back at 100 percent.

After two seasons away from the title race, the Warriors' championship core is champing at the bit to prove their reign atop the NBA isn't over quite yet.

Thompson's return will help solve some of their issues, but the Warriors face a critical offseason in which they must find a way to get Curry, Thompson and Green the help they need to become contenders again.

Green is confident the Warriors' ship will be righted, but the franchise has a lot of work to do in order to make Green's claim become reality.
