SANTA CLARA -- Jimmy Garoppolo has not lost hope that the 49ers can rebound from their four-game losing skid.

After the 49ers' 30-18 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the veteran quarterback shared that is has been little mistakes that have hindered the offense. Garoppolo believes if the 49ers can put together cleaner games, they still have a chance to turn around their season.

Garoppolo finished the night completing 16 of his 27 attempts for 181 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. While the weather played a role in the sloppiness of the game, at times the offense still was able to move the ball effectively.

“I think it was too many mistakes stacked on top of each other,” Garoppolo said on Sunday. “One guy would make a mistake here, one there. You can't do that and win football games consistently. I think we’ve just got to get back to the drawing board. We can't make this many mistakes back to back like that.”

While the team struggled, there were still productive moments for the offense. Garoppolo made sure to point out that Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuel both had exceptional performances.

“There were some highlights in this game,” Garoppolo said. “Elijah had a hundred, Deebo played good I thought. There are some positives to take out of this, but we have to get back to the drawing board and get back to work.

The 49ers will need to improve their record drastically if they want to keep their postseason hopes alive. The Arizona Cardinals (7-0) and Los Angeles Rams (6-1) hold a strong lead in the division. The Seattle Seahawks (2-4) might be struggling but they currently own the tiebreaker, having won their Week 4 contest at Levi’s Stadium.

Although Kyle Shanahan might have given a less-than-confident answer about Garoppolo’s starting status in Week 8 after the game, the quarterback was confident that the team is capable of turning things around.

“The NFL is a crazy thing,” Garoppolo said. “One week you're on top, one week you're at the bottom of it. Every team has their ups and downs. We're at the lower end of the point right now. But we can fight back.”
